  • Have you signed a promissory note?
  • Have you completed loan counseling?
  • Did you have loans with Zions, Chase or Mountain High Federal?
You will need to sign a new promissory note with a different lender.

Grants adjust for the first three weeks of the semester:

  • If you drop or add credits during the first three weeks of the semester, your grant may increase or decrease. If it decreases and you do not register in new credits to make up for the ones you dropped - before the end of the third week of classes - you will be required to repay part (or all) of your grant immediately. Read FAQs on this.

Some tips about applying for federal financial aid:

  • To apply for federal aid, you must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Apply as early as possible. The process can take several weeks.
The best aid packages go to the earliest applicants.
  • Limited Time Offer: Please be aware of our application and processing deadlines.
  • Be sure to correctly report your housing status (on/off-campus or living with relatives).
  • Be sure to list your class status correctly. List it according to the number of credits you will have earned before your first semester in 2008-09.
  • Select all the types of aid you are interested in. You can always turn down a loan or work-study later.
  • You must re-apply for Financial Aid each academic year that you want assistance.
