Honorary Degrees and Commencement Speaker


Utah State University is seeking nominations for Honorary Degrees for 2008 and a Commencement Speaker for 2009 graduation ceremony. The deadline for nominations is November 30, 2007.

The committee is looking for individuals who have shown sustained activity of uncommon merit, people who have achieved a prominent career nationally or internationally, or those who have shown significant service beyond the normal expectations of their profession to Utah State University, the community, or the State of Utah. Nominations must include the following items for candidates:

  • Completed application.
  • Short summary of the individual's qualifications, emphasizing those considered most meritorious.
  • Complete resume or curriculum vita, and
  • Letters of recommendation.

Nominations should be kept confidential until a final decision is made by Utah State's Board of Trustees.

People interested in submitting a nomination must send all completed paperwork no later than November 30, 2007 to:
