Training
AA/EO Office offers a wide variety of diversity-related training. Included in this type of training is a discussion why it is important to understand differences, recognize our own biases, and identify skills in removing cultural and gender barriers. During the Fall orientation for students, we provide a component on "Valuing Diversity" for incoming Freshman who are enrolled in the "Survival" class. Diversity training is also provided to teaching assistants and to other personnel and students on a requested basis.
Sexual Harassment Prevention WorkshopsSexual Harassment Prevention Workshops for new employees and for those who have not attended previous sessions will be scheduled. The workshops will be our general 90-minute program for all new employees (full and part-time staff, faculty, and student employees), or those who have not had an opportunity to attend previously scheduled sessions. No reservations are required but it is imperative that participants arrive on time and bring with them a writing instrument.
A list of people who have attended workshops from 1994 to the present will be sent to each Dean and Vice President for distribution to subordinate units. Those not appearing on this list should attend one of the sessions. If you have questions please contact Dave Ottley (telephone: 71266; fax x70291; or e-mail: Dave.Ottley@usu.edu
