SUMMA!!!
May 19, 2008
I love Logan Summers! Especially this first part of summer when a slight amount of snow still resides on the mountain tops and the color green consumes the rest of the valley! You should come and visit me because the weather right now is PERFECT! The sun shines, and the breeze blows. Ahhh….. I love it. At this time of summer, I spend a lot of time outside and work on my tan and rebuilding my sunshine supply that had recently been depleted due to the fact that it snowed until May this Winter.
Sand Volleyball anyone? Picnics at first dam? The canal? Summerfest? Hot dogs at Sam’s club then to the aquatic Center? Or what about the Farmer’s Market (My personal Favorite)! I love them all and you should try them out as well! Come visit me and show you a fun summa day in the great Cache Valley!
MOVING DAY!
May 6, 2008
In my college career, I have moved 10 times! Yes, 10. I stay in Logan in the summers and have moved each summer. I have never lived in the same place for over 9 months. Sounds fun, huh? Actually, it has been! I love to move around, change the scenery, meet new people, etc. My experience at college has been deeply enriched by living in so many places and having so many roommates!
Speaking of roommates, having them is the best! Sometimes it can be a difficult transition but for me they have always been awesome (I have had over 20)! Take for example the other night. All my roommates were moving and our house was a disaster with all of our “stuff” everywhere. Our beds were covered, the couches couldn’t be seen, and basically we had nowhere to sleep. So we pushed and shoved stuff aside, and had a great big sleepover on my bedroom room! We chatted and had a great time! I love roommates!
They Make a Difference!
April 19, 2008
I have always loved USU professors! However, I just had an experience that made me realize just how much they want the students to succeed and I want to share it with you, my friends! I have been working on a culminating project for my major and it has taken me months. Let’s just say the project went “sour” for several reasons and I was not able to complete it and get a grade. I was informed that I have to re-do the entire project in a week and a half. And to say the least, I was a little stressed and worried that I might not graduate!! However, because the professors at Utah State care so much about the students, today (which is a Saturday) I have been on the phone with 2 of my professors all morning. They calmed me down and gave me confidence that I will be able to complete the project. Then, they gave me ideas and told me that they could meet anytime and made sure I knew that I could call them on their cell phones at anytime if I needed anything. Now that is something you don’t see from a college professor everyday. But you do at USU! And that’s what makes Utah State so great! I love it! Thanks for listening friends! Until next time!
Week-O-Joy!
April 16, 2008
What up, friends?!
This week is A-Week, a week of Service! I love it. There are activities, events, service projects etc. going on all week. Here are a few examples: Last night, there was a 5K fun run (soon you will be able to check out my video of it). It was awesome with a great turnout. Tonight I get to go to Senior Celebration and hopefully win so awesome stuff. Tomorrow, there is a concert, and Friday, everything is going- a movie, a dance, Day on the Quad, and my favorite TRUE AGGIE NIGHT! It is my favorite True Aggie Night of the entire year. There are usually a few thousand people there. That is right, a few thousand people. I love it. And there is so much more to A-Week. I love USU because there is ALWAYS something to do. NEVER a dull moment.
THUMB WARS
April 16, 2008
FRIENDS!!!
1-2-3-4 I declare a thumb war. 5-6-7-8 you are good but I am great! Now there’s a start to great evening activity….THUMB WRESTLING! And I will just let you right now-I am terrible! I think I won by default, maybe once, and lost, (and by lost I mean that my pride was completely smashed) about 57 times!
So there I was, hanging out with my buddies late one night as I so often do, and a thumb-wrestling marathon begins?!! Now, that is what college is all about! Being totally random and spontaneous and thoroughly enjoying it!
A GLORIOUS AND FRIENDLY DAY
March 27, 2008
Friends!
What a GLORIOUS day! The sun is shining, most of the snow has melted, there is a slight breeze, and on and on…. I love Logan! It is so beautiful and I get so excited when spring begins to peek out. It is also a glorious day because it is Thursday. Every Thursday, a group of my friends gets together for “friend dinner”. We chat, laugh, and sometimes cry. Most of us are graduating so we spend a good amount of the time reminiscing and dreading graduation. Because we have come to a conclusion that USU is such a huge part of us that when we can’t say, I am attending USU, our hearts will be broken! However, beside the sadness of leaving, the dinner is a great time and I usually end up laughing so hard and at the worst time that I end up spitting something out of my mouth. It has happened an embarrassing time or two. And for your sake, I will spare you the details! So, I’m off friends. To my other friends I must go.
GO AGGIES!!!
Joy of a Lifetime!
March 3, 2008
Hey Ya'll!!!
Tonight I went to my last Aggie Basketball game as a undergraduate student! It was SAD! I will being a student at USU so badly! I have absolulty loved the broad and vast experiences I have gained at USU that I know I couldn't have gotten anywhere else! It has been so fabulous and I graduate knowing that I have made college all I wanted it to be and more. I will also graduate knowing that there is no better school in this world! GO AGGIES!!! I love it! My Utah State college experience has sincerely been a joy of a lifetime!
I Scream, You Scream, Aggies Scream!!

AGGIE ICE CREAM!
Do you love Ice Cream? Of course you do! We all do, right?
One thing I love about Utah State is Aggie Ice Cream! It is delicious; the best ice cream around! And the best part is, that it is given away for FREE all the time on campus! And I mean all the time! Even in the winter! Take for example last week. It was snowing yes, but there is no way that a little white stuff will get in the way of one of our greatest traditions Aggie Ice Cream. Last week was Traditions week on campus so they gave it away for free. And you better believe that I was one of the first people in the line! It was delicious! Just like always! MMmmmm I love Aggie Ice Cream! Adn you will too!
Happily Ever After
January 4, 2008
I am back! Back in Logan! It was very relaxing and rejuvenating to be at home in Arizona. However, it was such a wonderful feeling to come back into Cache valley and to take a deep breath of Logan air. I have always enjoyed coming back to school after a break because I remember how much I love USU and why I never want to leave! Utah State has been, by far, the best years of my life! I have gained so much more than an academic education here and I will be incredibly sad to graduate. But don't worry, I although I am graduating, I love Utah State too much to leave Logan. So, hopefully I will get a job at the University and live a happy life in Cache Valley… Happily Ever After… (I just watched the new Disney movie, Enchanted, and I couldn't help but use the cliché ending for my life.) All cheesiness aside, if I do end up in Cache Valley until my dying day, it really will be a happily ever after ending. Just what I have always wanted!
An Odd Campsite
December 23, 2007
I am in Arizona...Home for the Holidays and loving it!! So, I got this phone call the other day from my adventurous friends who are in Logan still. I knew that they were pretty spontaneous and loved adventures but I was not prepared for what they told me, but I loved it!
My crazy friends decided to go on a camp out to my house in Logan while I was away!! They live about a mile and half away and they hiked to my house, their "campsite". They hiked in with their huge camping backpacks, trail mix for the trail, and all necessary supplies for camping. They even found some roasting ticks for their hot dogs along the way. And yes, they made them into the perfect with their leathermens and Swiss army knifes!
Once they arrived at the campsite, they set up their tent, in my living room, and because preparing dinner. They used their roasting sticks to roast their hot dogs their camping dishes to make chili for the ultimate camping delicacy! There were many other fun camping adventures that evening! They did it all; everything you would do camping they did.
In the morning, they packed up the tent, and all the other camping supplies, and made sure to leave the campsite better than they had found it.
JSYK (Just So You Know)
December 7, 2007
JSYK, I was only in the computer lab until 2:00 AM. But the good things was that I was with about 50 other people. I am always so surprized how many people are in the lab so late. I think people get in the "college mode" and it is easier to stay up late than get up earlier. Atleast for me!
Well, I am headed to turn in my portfolio. I can't believe I am done! I am so excited to be done for this semsester but I am getting really nervous to graduate next semester. I love USU and can't imagine not being in the college scene. I will miss is dearly! But I will surive!! So, don't you worry!
Another 3:00 AM
December 6, 2007
I am currently sitting in the TSC computer lab. The week before finals it is open 24 hours a day. WOW! And the sad part is that people are using it 24 hours a day! Can you believe that?
I am currently working on a portfolio for my major that is taking a great deal of my time! The past three nights I have been up until 3:00 AM. Should I try to make it four-in-a-row??? What do you think?? I'll have to let you know what happens. But here is a little something to get excited about- I turn my portfolio in on Friday and then I AM DONE!!! No finals, no stress, no more homework, and no more 3:00 AMs! Who's excited for me? I am and you should be too!
The Most Wonderful Time of Year
November 27, 2007
You might think that this is crazy, but I have my radio tuned to 106.5! The Christmas station! Yes, already!
I just happened to hear the song, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of Year” and it got me thinking of all that is going on right now. Life is busy! Just the way I like it.
Here are a few reasons why I think that this is the “Most Wonderful Time of Year”:
-Aggie Basketball season started!! I love Basketball season!!
-It is getting cold and I love the cold! I know, I know, a little weird but I love it!! I’m looking out my window right now and I think it might snow. If it does, it will be the first snow of the year. Hooray!!!! I hope so. Except, I HATE driving in the snow, so we’ll see how that goes!
-It is that time of year where all my friends decide they want to have parties and cook a lot. For example, on Sunday, my roommate and I made a cake, cheesecake squares, a 5-course meal, and homemade truffles. For some odd reason, when it gets cold, we like to cook! (Speaking of the phrase “for some odd reason…”. I have a friend who up until two years ago, she thought the phrase was, “for sumodd reason. She thought it was all one word. One day she asked, what does sumodd mean?” We laughed and it has been a joke ever since!)
-And finally, this is the most wonderful time of year because it is almost Thanksgiving break!!! And let me tell you, I need a break from school. I am especially excited because I get to go home to Arizona, which only happens about once every few months. It will be so great to go home for a few days!!
Well, homework is calling and I must go finish it so that I can go enjoy the “most wonderful time of year”. I’m out!
College- It's About Being Spontaneous
October 12, 2007
What do I love about college? I LOVE that I have the freedom to be as random and spontaneous as I want! I recently have decided that college is about being spontaneous, being random- taking time to do things you wouldn’t typically do if you had a “real” job or “real” responsibilities!
Take for example Monday night. It had been a long day! Classes, work, studying- the usual, and I was heading home to write a paper due the next day. As I walked in the door, my great roommate hurriedly exclaimed, “I’m headed to Bear Lake with some friends! Want to come?” “Are you kidding!?” I thought. “I have a paper due in the morning, my room is a mess, I haven’t eaten, and the list goes on! I can’t drive 45 minutes up the canyon just to get a Raspberry shake and then drive home!” But quickly my sense of adventure caught up to me! Somehow I found myself deciding that I have stayed up many late nights to write papers and I could do the same tonight! So, 20 minutes later a group of 8 of us were driving through the canyon. And I can I tell you that the leaves were incredible!!!! I LOVE LOGAN IN THE FALL!! The drive was amazing! It looked the mountains were on fire it was so red!
Little did we know that we would run into the most fantastic little pizza joint when we got to Bear Lake (It was only 7:00 PM but EVERYTHING was closed except this pizza place). And do you know what we ordered? A 28” diameter OLD EPHRIAM pizza! The slices were as long as my arm! It was amazing, delicious, and brilliant all at the same time! And you better believe that we ate it all! And of course, we had to get a shake after snaffing the Old Ephraim, the very reason we made the trek up the canyon!
So will our bellies full, we headed back to Logan, rocking out to nothing but an incredible 80’s mix! It was a spontaneous and random night! Just the way college should be! And in case you were wondering, I wrote my paper late that night, and got an A on it?!!
