Old Main Society Member Thad Box was the featured speaker at the annual fall lecture of the Friends of the Merrill-Cazier Library

Animal Bells and their Story on Exhibit at USU Merrill-Cazier Library. Friends of the Merrill-Cazier Library hosted an opening reception for the exhibit October 28, 6-7 p.m. in the library foyer. The reception was followed by the Friend's annual fall lecture that began at 7 p.m. in Merrill-Cazier Library, Room 101. The lecture featured professor Box, who shared stories reflecting the cultural connection people have to animals and their landscapes through bells. Shauna Mabey recognized for her vocational success and community service

Some have talked about a "glass ceiling" to describe a condition that exists when a professional woman finds her career progress thwarted by biases that deny qualified women the same opportunities offered to men. Shauna Mabey felt she was facing what she called a "concrete ceiling" early in her career. And yet, despite the obstacles, she broke through barriers to became the first female national account manager at Ryder Truck Rental's Commercial Leasing Division in 1993. Space Dynamics Lab celebrates 50 years in space

On August 8, Space Dynamics Lab will hold a 50th Anniversary Community Day from noon to 4 p.m. at its facilities on USU's Innovation Campus, 1695 N. Research Park Way in North Logan.

"If you've got a kid who likes gadgets, this is the place to bring them" said Jim Marshall, director of business development.

Activities will include science-related demonstrations with liquid nitrogen, crystals, bouncy balls and sun telescope demonstrations.
