Faculty and Programs

A memorable education is anything but a passive experience. At Utah State that might mean taking a class from a violinist with the internationally known Fry Street String Quartet, attending a lecture by legendary film director Spike Lee, or helping design a space-age Wright Flyer for the centennial of the world's first powered flight.

You can enrich the entire campus with a distinguished chair or professor, a visiting scholar or artist, or up-to-date laboratory or new library collection. All you have to do is contribute to an existing endowment or create a new one.

If you create a new one, you can name the endowment in your name, in a company or organization name, or in memory or honor of someone. Others may contribute to the endowment fund you establish. You can finance the endowment all at once, over five years, or through a planned gift, such as an estate plan, bequest, charitable trust, or life insurance policy.

We invest the principal and hold it in perpetuity. Earnings support the specified purpose of the fund.

An Endowed Chair brings outstanding new faculty to the university and occasionally recognizes a current faculty member.

An Endowed Laboratory provides annual earnings for equipment and research.

An Endowed Professorship provides a base salary or salary supplement, benefits and additional academic assistance to a current faculty member who shows great promise in his or her discipline.

An Endowed Visiting Lectureship brings outstanding scholars and artists to campus to teach, research, and share their professional expertise.

An Endowed Book Fund provides income for the purchase of books or other materials in a specified field. It may also support preservation of books, cataloging and other library expenses.
