New Conference Format
In response to advisor feedback, the format of the advising conference has been changed this year. During the registration process, you will be asked to indicate which of the conference sections (Advising Basics, Lunch, and/or Degrees to Somewhere) you plan to attend. This is primarily for planning purposes. Should you have a change of plans after you register, simply send a quick email to lauri.merrill@usu.edu.
8 a.m. to Noon |
Advising Basics Track: designed with new advisors in mind, but open to everyone. Topics include: “What I Wish I’d Known When I Started Advising”, Advising Policies and Procedures, Advising Resources, and Student Services (Admissions, SOAR, Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid, Academic Resource Center, etc.). |
Noon to 2:30 p.m. |
General Session/Lunch: lunch, keynote speaker and updates from the Registrar's Office. |
2:30 to 4:45 p.m. |
Degrees to Somewhere Track: workshops and roundtables focusing on the “Degrees to Somewhere” theme, including: career exploration and preparation, DegreeWorks, and advising best practices. The conference will end with a closing business session. |
