Aggie Care Mission:
Aggie Care's mission is to complement the services available on campus and ensure that faculty, staff and students are aware and may benefit from community resources. Aggie Care will serve as a link to community resources to assist faculty, staff and students with their work and family life balance by matching the resources that meet their individual needs.
Aggie Care Services:
Child Care - Aggie Care works with local providers and centers to assist in their efforts to maintain high quality standards by working toward National Accreditation.
Family Lending Library - Located in the Taggart Student Center in the Center for Women and Gender. When you visit our library you will find a wide variety of materials to encourage and support your efforts to spend quality family time with your children.
Celebration of Children and Families- Each fall Aggie Care coordinates a Celebration of Children and Families on the QUAD for all USU families. You and your child will enjoy the fun educational activities offered by each college.
Community Resources - Aggie Care networks with a wide variety of community resources to ensure that USU faculty, staff and students are made aware of services available to assist in all their work and family life needs.
Faculty Enhancements - Faculty members are encouraged to use the services provided through Aggie Care including: personal child care referrals, use of the Family Lending Library, and referrals finding other community resources that will meet their individual needs.
Child Care Access Means Parents In School (CCAMPIS)- The Aggie Care Coordinator is the Co-Principal investigator of the CCAMPIS grant. This grant provides child care assistance to Pell-eligible full time USU student parents, provides access to high quality nationally accredited child care, and promotes parent involvement in their children's care.
Outreach (Smart-Girl)- Smart-Girl is a curriculum based program for girls 11-15 and offers peer mentor opportunities for girls 16-26. This program has been made available to the girls in our community through a partnership with Smart-Girl, The Center for Women and Gender, Aggie Care, local educators and administrators. This program enables girls to be empowered and learn vital life skills such as: leadership, self confidence, teamwork, communication skills, problem solving, control over emotions and choices, media images, healthy relationships, refusal skills, action against bullying, self protection, managing stress and much more.
