USU Alumni Spotlight - Rodney R. Anderson

Rodney R. Anderson served Gunnison Valley for more than a decade as the justice court judge before retiring last year. Sadly, just a few months later, Judge Anderson would pass away at the age of 69 after a battle with cancer.
Born in Ephraim, Utah, Judge Anderson graduated from Gunnison Valley High School before attending Utah State University. His career began in education, where he worked as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent for the South Sanpete School District. In all, Judge Anderson’s career as an educator lasted more than 40 years.
Judge Anderson turned his attention to his community and served on the Gunnison City Council for two years before being elected mayor of Gunnison in 1982. He served as mayor for four years.
Judge Anderson is survived by his wife, Kathy, their son, Ryan, and three grandchildren.
Search for Missing BYU Student Ends in Tragedy

Along with other Utah schools, Utah State University had joined the search for missing BYU student, Camille Cleverley. Camille has been missing from Provo, UT, since Thursday, August 30.
Tragically, Camille's body was discovered on Sunday. She was the victim of an apparent fall while hiking.

From Armenia to Logan

Utah State University President Stan L. Albrecht and First Lady Joyce Albrecht hosted a reception at the President’s Home to welcome 13 new USU students from Armenia.

Football tailgate schedule/Homecoming activities announced
The 2007 Football away game tailgate schedule has been announced. We had a great party at Wyoming and will continue with Oklahoma this Saturday. For a complete listing of away game tailgates, or to R.S.V.P. online click here.
Homecoming activities have also been announced and this year they are better than ever. The festivities begin on Sunday, September 16th with street painting and go through Midnight on Saturday, Spetember 22nd. Duning the week and weekend there will be something for everyone including, a 5K, golf tournament, reunions, the homecoming banquet, an outdoor concert, the homecoming parade, fireworks, and of course, the Homecoming Football game with kickoff at 6:05. Two USU Volleyball Players Honored
Utah State's volleyball team had two players honored at the 2007 Golden Bear Invitational hosted by the University of California this past weekend as senior Amanda Nielson was named to the all-tournament team and freshman
Christine Morrill was named the tournament's Defensive Standout.
