The Student Alumni Association is the student component of the USU Alumni Association. As a result, it is an organization which is led by current USU students. If you want to get more involved on campus, now is your time to apply. Applications for the 2013-2014 SAA Executive Board are now available. Applications are due March 8th.

2013- 2014 SAA Executive Board Positions



President: The president will oversee the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of SAA. He/she manages the budget and ensures resources are provided and defined. He/she will organize the weekly SAA Executive Board meeting, sits on the USU Alumni Association Executive Board, and attends USU Alumni staff weekly staff meetings. Reports directly to Craig Whyte (Advisor of SAA). The president will receive a $5,000 scholarship for serving in this position. This financial assistance is provided to ensure that SAA receives the time and dedication needed in moving the organization forward.



Networking VP: The networking VP will oversee 'Alumnights' and the additional networking and engagement tools in connecting students and alumni. Additionally, the networking VP will assist in the selection, training, and implementation of the Discovery Initiative (a new program that will pay students for contacting USU alums in the summer). Reports directly to the SAA President. The networking VP will receive a $2,500 scholarship for serving in this position. This financial assistance is provided to ensure that SAA receives the time and dedication needed in moving the organization forward.



Traditions VP: The tradition's VP will oversee all alumni related traditions, including A-Week, Homecoming activities, Senior Celebration, True Aggie Nights, lighting the "A" on the mountain for Homecoming and A-Week, and other activities (as deemed necessary). Works with ASUSU Traditions VP to strengthen and enhance all traditions at USU. Reports directly to the SAA President. The tradition's VP will receive a $2,500 scholarship for serving in this position. This financial assistance is provided to ensure that SAA receives the time and dedication needed in moving the organization forward.



Student Giving VP: The student giving VP will oversee student giving and the implementation of campaigns/promotions that encourage students to give back to USU while they are a student. The student giving VP will also facilitate senior gift. Responsibilities also include working closely with student development officers. Reports directly to the SAA President. The student giving VP will receive a $2,500 scholarship for serving in this position. This financial assistance is provided to ensure that SAA receives the time and dedication needed in moving the organization forward.



Communications VP: The communications VP will oversee the internal and external messaging for SAA. He/she will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships surrounding campus relations, promotions, and sponsorship. He/she will serve as spokesperson for the student component of the USU Alumni Association. Reports directly to the SAA President. The communication's VP will receive a $2,500 scholarship for serving in this position. This financial assistance is provided to ensure that SAA receives the time and dedication needed in moving the organization forward.
