How do I find a sign language interpreter for my classes?
The Disability Resource Center, located on the ground level of University Inn, provides Sign Interpreters for students who have documentation or a doctor's report to show that he/she meets certain criteria and limitations. The student also needs to take the Intake Exam.
How can I learn more about sign language and improve my signing skills?
There are sign language classes on campus and a sign language club. You can get more information by calling the Disability Resource Center at (435) 797-2444.
Are tests available in braille?
Tests in Braille are available at the Disability Resource Center, located on the ground level of the University Inn.
How can I get a hold of a CC TV for my classes?
CC TVs are available in some of the buildings on campus. If you've checked with the building your class is held in and they don't have access to a CC TV, you can arrange for one through the Disability Resource Center, located on the ground level of the University Inn. Their office number is (435) 797-2444.
What should I do if I can't hear my professor, even with hearing aids?
If adjusting where you sit in the classroom doesn't help, speak to your advisor about this concern. You may need to get different hearing aids, which if this is the case, hearing tests are provided for students at the Communicative Disorders and Dear Education office. Contact them by phone at (435) 797-1375.
How do I get my syllabus in larger print?
The Disability Resource Center, located in the ground level of University Inn, will provide you with a large-print syllabus by your request.
