On a PC Compatible computer, no installation of "Whose Mummy Is
It?"
itself needs to be done. However, you do need to have the cartouch.ttf
font (included on CD) in your system folder.
When you first
put in the CD, it should autorun and bring up a menu for "Whose
Mummy Is It?". Click on the Install the cartouche.ttf font
(required) button and the font will be installed. If the cartouch.ttf
font will not install on your computer, you need to make sure all other
programs are closed. The font should then install. Also, if your CD-ROM

install the font.
To do this, follow these instructions:
Click Start: Settings: Control Panel
When the Control Panel is open, double-click the Fonts folder.
Click File: Install New Font...
The Add Fonts dialogue box will now come up.
In the Drives: menu, select your CD-ROM drive.
Then, in the Folders: box, select the PC folder by double-clicking it.

box.
Select this font by single-clicking it.
Click OK.

only the text from your postcards.
To do the latter, open the postcards.txt file.
On a PC Compatible, this is located in the:

have 32 MB of physical memory (RAM), set virtual memory to 33 MB and
restart your computer.

to make sure all other programs are closed. The font should then install.

FAQ's
for the "Whose Mummy Is It?" CD-ROM
When you put the "Whose Mummy Is It?"
CD in your CD-ROM drive, this is what should happen:
The CD drive will spin-up and then, after about 10-20 seconds a box should
pop up with the title "Whose Mummy Is It?"
This title has a picture of Egyptian artifacts behind it.
Below this, the box should have four buttons: Install the cartouch.ttf
font (required), Play "Whose Mummy Is It?", View ReadMe / FAQ's
file, Go to our web site, and Exit.
Before you play "Whose Mummy Is It?", you need to make sure you
have a certain font installed (if you are using a PC). If you are not sure,
install the font anyway. To do this, click the Install the cartouch.ttf
font (required) button. This will open a MS-DOS prompt window and install
the font. When this is done, close the window. You can now play "Whose
Mummy Is It?"

2. Will the "Whose Mummy
Is It?"
CD work on both a PC-Compatible and a Mac (Apple)?
Yes, this CD works on both a PC-Compatible and a Mac (Apple)
computer. However, the WMIIT CD will not Autorun on the Mac. It needs to
be manually started by double-clicking the WMIIT icon.
Back to FAQ's
3. Why won't the "Whose Mummy Is It?"
CD run when I put it into my CD-ROM drive (the pop-up box doesn't
come up)?
This is usually a result of the Autorun feature being turned off or
the CD was put in before the computer had booted up.
There are a number of things which you can do to solve this problem:
1. Give the CD about 10-20 seconds to load.
2. If nothing happens, Double-click the My Computer icon in the upper
left corner of the desktop. Look for a CD drive (most likely D:-Z:) with
the words WMIIT above the drive letter. Double-click the CD icon (WMIIT)
and wait about 10-20 seconds for the CD to load.
3. If, instead of loading the program, another window opens up with the
contents of the WMIIT CD, open the Fastmenu folder in this window by
double-clicking it. Now look for a file called Fastmenu.exe. Double-click
this and the program should now start.
4. Now follow the instructions above or in the Read_Me_First.html file
to play "Whose Mummy Is It?".
Back to FAQ's
4. How do I access the text I wrote on the
postcards?
Within WMIIT?, you are asked to write a postcard about nine times. The
text from these files is saved on the hard drive of the machine you are
on at the time you wrote the postcard.
To access, open and / or print what you have written, open the postcards.txt
file.
On a PC Compatible, this is located in the:
C:\WINDOWS\A6W_DATA\ folder
On an Apple Macintosh, this file is located in the:
HD:\System folder\Preferences\RunA6M Data\ folder

5. When I come back to the game later, I can't
find my place in the Scrapbook.
WMIIT? does not keep track of your place in the Mummy Handbook or Scrapbook
modules of the program. Make note of where you left off and use the tabs
or ankh to find your place.

7. I finished Day 3, but when I restart the CD, I'm back at the beginning. How do I get to where I left off?
You do not need to start from the beginning every time. After the
introduction video (which you can click past) you should be asked if you are a "first
time visitor" or "returning visitor." If you click on "returning visitor" you are brought the the itinerary page, with links to the sections of each
day. If you keep track of where you left off (e.g. Day 4), then you can use
this to get back to the approximate same spot.
