Constitution of the Anthropology Club

Club Officers 2008-2009

Mission Statement

The Anthropology Club is a forum to promote interest and raise awareness in the field of Anthropology.  This organization shall provide a forum for speakers to make presentations to members on contemporary aspects of the anthropology discipline, schedule field trips, provide direct hands-on learning experiences, and provide social activities and events for members and otherwise interested parties. Our goal as an Anthropology club is to produce members that have an increased appreciation for other cultures and peoples as well as generate successful members of our community and discipline.

Previous Events

In the past the Anthropology Club has facilitated and participated in the following events: family day, pasta social, opening social, and a graduate student seminar.  This year the Anthropology club has/will participated in not only these events but also in plan on increasing our itinerary.

Current Events

This semester the club is forging ahead and creating new avenues to pursue.  In order to do this, we as a club, are in the process of establishing an infrastructure for years to come.  This foundation is based upon several key elements such as building a body of procedures and guidelines for future members and leaders of the Club, and budget analysis by tracking attendance at club events for future planning purposes.  Foremost among these is the Constitution of the Anthropology Club, formalizing the procedures for membership and policy-making.  It also outlines the focal points that we, as club members, would like to see emphasized within our organization. Furthermore, we have developed a mission statement and are joining the Council of Student Clubs and Organizations (CSCO).

Annual Spaghetti Dinner

This year's traditional mingling of students and faculty will be held on September 26th in the Cane House. Come have a great time eating excellent food (free food), and getting to know others outside of a classroom atmosphere.
