Located on a 140 acre wooded tract along West Okoboji Lake, the lab is easy to access and puts field school participants on the edge of one of Iowa's premier summer recreational areas for weekend enjoyment. The Gillett Grove site literally sits on the edge of history with the first appearance of European fur trade goods found intermingled with late prehistoric Oneota chipped stone, ceramic, and faunal remains.
