OBJECTIVE
The objective of the Museum Studies Area Certificate is to provide Utah State University students with a strong theoretical and experiential foundation for (a) graduate work in the field of Musuem Studies; (b) paid jobs in museums upon graduation; and/or (c) voluntary museum service at Utah's many museums.
REQUIREMENTS
Students majoring in any course of study may participate and receive a certificate upon completion of the requirements.
The certificate is an elective addition to a standard academic program at the university and to a student's major and minor courses of study. Some students may complete the certificate in lieu of a minor.
Students must complete 24 credits for this certificate. To encourage a variety of expericences, no more than 12 credits maybe completed in any one discipline. A GPA of 3.0 must be attained in courses applied to the certificate.

in the following areas to recieve the Museum Studies certificate:
Core courses- 6 credits

Object Care and Exhibition- 6 credits
Interpretation and Education Outreach- 6 credits
For details on how to obtain a "Museum Studies" certificate through HASS Area Studies program, students should visit the Anthropology program, students should visit the Anthropology Office, Old Main 245. Sheets outlining certificate requirements are available in that office. The office also has serveral 3-ring binders containing course descriptions and sample syllabi. Students considering erning a certificate should meet with the cerfificate advior as early as possible for help planning a course of study. The advisor will sign thr form necessary for the certificate to be added to a students's transcript upon graduation.
