Online workshops are now available to help you understand how psychological issues can impact academic success. The Psych'd Out! Workshop Series focuses on Perfectionism, Procrastination, Test Anxiety and Math Anxiety, which are issues that many university students experience. Through these workshops, you will better understand the causes and some techniques to help cope with them.
Note: If you are having difficulty with the videos playing using Internet Explorer, we advise you to use Firefox or Chrome as your browser.
Center staff also conduct in-person training, presentations, and workshops for academic classes, peer mentors and advisors, student groups such as sororities/fraternities, residence halls and residence life staff, teaching assistants, faculty and staff. Our staff works carefully to develop the workshop or presentation to meet the specific needs of the group and involve the participants in active learning.
These are some of the workshop topics Center staff have presented:
- Active learning strategies (for teaching assistants, tutors, peer mentors, faculty)
- Effective tutoring and mentoring techniques
- Learning styles and teaching/learning strategies
- Critical thinking
- Test taking strategies
- Test preparation: general strategies and creating study guides
- Note taking strategies
- Time management
- Managing test anxiety
We request that groups contact the Center two weeks prior to when a workshop is wanted.
