Below are brief descriptions of each of the clubs and organizations that fall under the umbrella of the Val R. Christensen Service Center. Please contact our program directors with any questions and/or ideas you might have.
Aggie Health
Aggie Health is a service organization which provides health-focused volunteer opportunities for students on campus and in the community. We provide service through clinics, educational opportunities, and by s upporting other health oriented organizations, projects, and events.

Aggie Special Olympics
Aggie Special Olympics is a part of a worldwide organization that provides year-round sports training and athletics competition in Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities. We strive to give athletes continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and share their gifts and friendship with family, friends, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

Aggies for Africa
Aggies for Africa focuses on raising awareness and funds for various organizations in Africa, covering areas from education to war relief.

Blood Drives/Blood Battles
The Service Center organizes four annual blood drives with the American Red Cross at Utah State University, including Blood Battles with various universities around the state of Utah.
Friends of the Elderly
Friends of the Elderly is a program that provides opportunities for USU students to serve elderly people in Cache Valley including weekly activities at a local senior center and an Adopt-a-Grandparent program.

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity an organization that participates in building homes around the valley that benefit those with housing needs.

Operation Smile
Operation Smile volunteers repair childhood facial deformities while building public and private partnerships that advocate for sustainable healthcare systems for children and families. Together, we raise awareness, create smiles, change lives, heal humanity.

PALS
PALS is a youth mentoring program in which students are matched with 6- to 16-year-olds in Cache Valley and spend time with them weekly in one-on-one activities or group events. Our mission is to be a solid role model, positive influence, friend, and support to contribute to the overall success and development of the children in Cache Valley.

Senior University
Senior University provides Cache Valley seniors with weekly intellectually stimulating classroom instruction in various topics, including the arts, ethics, political issues, finance, nutrition, etc.

Service-Learning Scholars
The Service-Learning Scholars program provides student with the opportunity to combine meaningful service with their academic course work and to create sustainable change in their communities, while earning a Certificate in Service-Learning.

Spanish Ambassadors (SPAM)
Spanish Ambassadors (SPAM) is a group dedicated to serving the Spanish-speaking population in Cache Valley including translating at schools, health fairs and university events; Spanish fluency is not required.

Special Olympics Games
Special Olympics Games are hosted twice a year by USU. Volunteers are needed to keep score, time events and encourage athletes as they compete.

STAR
STAR stands for Student Teaching Arithmetic and Reading. It is designed for USU students to give one-on-one tutoring in reading and math to elementary and junior high students throughout Cache Valley.

STEP: Students Together Ending Poverty
STEP: Students Together Ending Poverty works to alleviate hunger in the state of Utah and completes projects to aid people around the world suffering from poverty.

Storytellers is dedicated to promoting literacy by reading to kids and hosting learning activities by working with local schools, libraries, and community organizations.

The Student Sustainability Council is committed to educating people about sustainable living and environmental issues. We aim to raise awareness in these areas and provide people with an opportunity to serve their environment and community.

Stuff A Bus
Stuff A Bus is the annual drive to collect non-perishable donations for the Cache Community Food Pantry and Sub for Santa throughout November and December each year.

United Campus Volunteers
United Campus Volunteers is a group for people who want to volunteer with others for community and campus service projects. In addition, they run the community hotline, recruiting volunteers to help with individual needs within Cache Valley.

Service Week is held during spring semester. A week jam packed with service and fun opportunities to change the lives around you or just make someone's day. This week focuses on benefiting our campus and community with different service opportunities.

Cache Valley Volunteer Center
The Cache Valley Volunteer Center was created to provide service opportunities for individuals, groups and agencies in our community and is a tool to help those who want to share volunteer opportunities. Our mission is to promote volunteerism in Cache Valley as a means of fostering increased citizen involvement in the community and enabling public and private non-profit agencies to enhance or maintain human services.
