This organization shall be known as the Sigma Chapter of Alpha Tau Alpha.
Article II
Purpose
The purpose of this organization is to promote the high ideals and standards as set up by the national body; to cooperate in promoting the interests thereof; to support the Constitution and By-Laws of the national organization; and to abide by the rules and regulations governing the same.
Article III
Membership
Section I. Active Membership
Active membership in this organization shall be limited to sophomores, juniors, and seniors preparing to teach agriculture or extension education, and graduate students whose interests are in agricultural education or extension education. Members shall have at least a 2.5 GPA.
Section II. Junior Membership
1. Junior membership in Alpha Tau Alpha shall be open to all freshman and transfer students who express an interest and major in agricultural or extension education. (privileges of junior membership shall be left to the discretion of the active membership of the chapter.)
2. Junior members need not be reported to the national and no national dues shall be required from them.
3. Junior membership shall not exceed a period of one year.
Section III. Associate Membership
Associate membership shall be limited to those actively engaged in agricultural education or extension education professions.
Section IV. Honorary Membership
Honorary Membership shall be limited to those persons engaged in agricultural leadership; those desiring to promote the welfare of community life; and to those promoting agricultural education.
Section V. Election to Membership
Election to membership in this organization shall be by individual ballot at a regular meeting of the local chapter, the candidates name having been proposed at one previous meeting.
Two dissenting votes shall prevent a candidate's election to this organization.
Article IV
Officers
Officers of this organization shall be president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and university representative, who shall act as an executive committee, and shall execute the duties incumbent with these offices. The term of office shall be one year.
Article V
Dues
Each initiate upon initiation shall pay to the treasurer the sum of $15, which is the national initiation fee.
Article VI
Amendments
Amendments to the Constitutions and by-laws of this chapter may be made upon the majority approval of the active membership of the local chapter.

Article I
Duty of Officers
Section I. Duties of the President
1. The president shall

Obey and enforce the Constitution and By-Laws of the organization.

Be held accountable by the organization as a whole.

Act as the official representative of the organization unless a representative is otherwise appointed.

Have power to appoint all committees.
2. The President shall execute other duties incumbent with the office.
Section II. Duties of the Vice-President
1. In the absence of the president, the vice-president shall act in the official capacity of the president and the member shall take on all the duties of that office.
2. In case the president is removed from office by any means, the vice-president shall act as the president until a new president is elected.
3. The vice president will be responsible for organizing a program of activities at the first of every school year.
Section III. Duties of the Secretary
1. The secretary shall

Act as a recorder of all business brought before the organization and shall take a complete record of each meeting.

Notify the national secretary-treasurer of all changes in the personnel of officers; and shall send a complete list of names, roll numbers, and addresses of initiates with their initiation dues.

Keep a record of reports of each committee.

be held responsible and accountable for all books and records of the organization.

Carry on all correspondence the executive committee deems fit.
2. The secretary shall act as the official historian of the organization.
Section IV. Duties of the Treasurer

The treasurer shall render a report at each regular meeting of the organization or at the request of the executive committee.

The money obtained by the treasurer shall be deposited under the account of Alpha Tau Alpha in the USU Credit Union.

The treasurer shall be help responsible and accountable to the organization.

All bills must be paid by check, and signed by the treasurer. All receipts and cancelled checks shall be kept through out the year.

At the end of the year, the bank record shall be balanced. All receipts and cancelled checks shall be placed in the care of the secretary to be kept as a permanent record.
Section V. Duties of the University Representative

The university representative shall meet and cooperate with the agricultural council under direction of the college of Agriculture Senator.

The university representative shall properly represent the organization to the university by participating in committees where a club representative is required.

The university representative shall
- Arrange for a meeting room
- Prepare the meeting room for assembly
- Put the room in order after the meeting
- Assist the president in keeping order
Section VI. Duties of the Executive Committee

It shall be the duty and power of the Executive Committee to take immediate action in regard to conditions which may arise where it would not be expedient or possible or necessary to call a meeting of the organization. In such cases, the executive committee shall to the best of it's ability take action of which the organization as a whole would approve.

Meetings of the Executive Committee shall be held upon notice of the president.
Article II
Meetings
Section I. Regular meetings
Regular meetings of the Sigma chapter shall be held on the 4th Wednesday of each month unless otherwise determined by the executive committee, or at a previous meeting.
Section II. Special meetings

May be called by the president.

Shall by called by the president upon written request of five members of the chapter.
