7:00 am - 6:00 pm    Car-Free Fridays

Recreational / Other

Need to get some exercise? Tired of high gas prices? Want some fresh air? Join us for Car-Free Fridays. Let's leave our car in the garage and either ride our bikes, walk or use public transportation every Friday.
Commit yourself to just one day a week and go car-free. Small efforts add up to big results over time. Help protect your health and save the environment one step at a time. Send your Car-Free Friday stories to caroline.shugart@usu.edu to inspire others and you'll receive a free "Blue Goes Green" lapel pin. Brought to you by the USU Wellness Program and the USU Sustainability Program.

7:00 pm - 8:30 pm    Science Unwrapped - The Superhero's Universe

Presentation/Speeches / College of Science

Inquiring minds of all ages are invited to "The Superhero's Universe: Observing the Cosmos with X-ray Vision and Beyond." Featured speaker is USU physicist Michelle Larson. When scientists turn their eyes and instruments toward the sky, what they see depends on how they look. A single object will appear very differently when viewed in radio waves, visible light, x-rays or gravitational waves. Larson invites you to join her in examining different astronomical objects through a variety of lenses. Following in scientists' steps, she'll guide you in putting together information gained from each view to obtain a more complete understanding of the Sun, nebulae, galaxies and more.
