The Swaner EcoCenter will host its Fourth Annual Holiday Art Market December 4-14. The EcoCenter is the perfect building to highlight local artists and crafters from the Park City and Salt Lake communities. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Swaner EcoCenter. Come visit us and see what your local artisans have to offer. You won't leave empty handed! Exhibit / Caine College of the Arts

This exhibit features nine recently acquired pieces of avant-garde, contemporary art that have never been displayed in the museum before. These artworks came to the museum from the late Joe Austin who died in March this year at the age of 74. This exhibit shows some of the art from Mr. Austin's personal collection from his Los Angeles homes, and it will be on display through December 10, 2013. Please note that the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

This selection of artwork from the museum's permanent collection embraces a diverse range of forms and showcases work by important women artists from the 1970s and 1980s. Much of the artwork displayed in the exhibit addresses issues of womanhood, femininity, and equality through experimentation in total abstraction, representations of the female body, and examples of pattern or decoration. Highlights include posters by the Guerilla Girls, an installation piece by Ilene Segalove, photography from the second wave of feminism, and abstract minimalism. Please note that the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art will be closed in observance of holidays on Nov. 28 & 29, Dec. 25, Jan. 1 & 20, 2014, and Feb. 17.

This selection of 22 woodcuts is displayed in the museum’s Study Center gallery and shows a wide array of techniques within this printmaking method. The prints feature traditional landscapes, abstracted nature forms, intricate Asian designs, and sharp patterns of black and white. Some of the artists featured included Paul Landacre, Karen Kunc, Marion Hyde and Werner Drewes. Each of the prints is displayed horizontally in a chest of large, industrial, glass and metal drawers allowing viewers to closely examine each piece.

This workshop is designed to help participants understand the role of pain in signaling the need for change and encourages students to shift their focus from limitations to possibilities. The five dimensions of well being will be explored in concert with the value of mood states, even sadness. Participants will engage in “three good things” exercises and will explore the benefits of promoting well-being.

The USU Illusionists, a USUSA-sponsored club, invites Cache Valley residents to the Jeff Martin Magic Show. The show will be held at Thatcher-Young Mansion, 35 W. 100 South, Logan, Utah 84321. Just $10 per ticket. Jeff shines is in his ability to make people of ALL ages smile, laugh, giggle and simply marvel at the wonders of comedy magic with all of it's production, misdirection, bunnies and doves, and antics that make a quality show entertaining. "We love to make people laugh! In a time of turmoil and uncertainty, our show lets you 'step-away' from all the 'stuff' out there and just remember what it's like to be a family and be together doing something fun, like going to a fair and sharing some cotton candy and watching a magic show!" That's what it's all about.
