Spring Nature Walks, Saturdays, 10 a.m. Join us for an easy stroll and learn about the history of Swaner, what animals and plants call the preserve home, and how the preserve changes through the seasons. Boots or mudshoes recommended. Nature enthusiasts of all ages are welcome. Reservations for nature walks are suggested. There is a $5 fee for non-members, free for members. Please join us at the Museum of Anthropology on Saturday, June 22, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. as we take a closer look at games from around the world! Playing games and enjoying a bit of friendly competition is an important recreation activity in cultures around the world. An illustrated lecture at 1 p.m. will highlight the earliest known games from around the world. Throughout the day kids can play games from around the globe and earn prizes. The Museum is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and admission is always FREE!

This exhibit features nine works of art recently donated to the museum by the late Joe Austin. These artworks are avant garde pieces from the 1970s and 1980s by artists working in the Los Angeles area and include an early painting by Lari Pittman. Beginning in 2005, Joe Austin gave a number of important artworks to the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art. He died in March 2013 in Los Angeles at the age of 74. Mr. Austin donated modern and contemporary artworks by Alison Saar, Charles Gaines, Dewain Valentine and Peter Shire among others. A graduate of Harvard Law School, he was a successful attorney and a passionate supporter of the visual arts throughout his life. Climbing Wall Hours: Saturdays from 1-3 p.m. The Swaner EcoCenter indoor, wetland-themed climbing wall is open every Saturday from 1-3 p.m. Free for members, $5 per person for non-members. Open to all ages. We provide the climbing harness. Climbers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult to sign a liability waiver. Come support the Sisters of Hoboken, whose cook, Sister Julia, Child of God (bless her heart), has accidentally poisoned most of the convent. The survivors are putting on a musical variety show to raise money to bury the last four frozen nuns of the 52 dead. Rated Intermediate for mild content. Presented by the Old Lyric Repertory Company, based in the Theatre Arts Department at USU.
