Exhibit / Merril-Cazier Library

A selection of broadsides by the Green Cat Press, from the Merrill-Cazier Library's Special Collections, is on display in the Library's Atrium. Each broadside combines a literary work, such as a poem or essay, with imagery. These fine prints, many resulting from direct collaboration with well-known authors, have themes ranging from cats and nature to the metaphysical. The exhibition may be viewed during regular library hours until early September.

In its 27th year, the AIAA/USU Conference on Small Satellites will convene developers, visionaries, sponsors, and enthusiasts for a highly stimulating week of dialog and collaboration to continue the advances of small satellite missions. LEGO Robotics Summer Camp for Beginners, Aug. 12-16, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., 5th-7th graders. Campers will let their imaginations run wild as they design, build, and program robots to complete challenges. This camp will use LEGO Mindstorms NXT/EV3 kits. Youth who have little to no experience with robotics should sign up for the Beginners level of this camp.

This camp will use LEGO Mindstorms NXT/EV3 kits. Youth whot have experience with robotics should sign up for the Intermediate level of this camp. Experience may have come through participating in a robotics team or robotics competition, learning robotics through a school program, etc.

Local artists are coming together to exhibit their work for all to enjoy. Featured in this show are Joe Alleman, Michael Bingham, Colleen Howe Bleinberger, Heather Campbell, Jerry Fuhriman, Kristi Grussendorf, Mike Malm, Jim Morgan and Debra Teare. A public reception will be held on Friday, Aug. 9, at 5 p.m. The show is free and open to the public.

Nancy Mesner, a water quality specialist, head of USU Water Quality Extension and associate professor in USU's Department of Watershed Sciences, will be speaking at Swaner EcoCenter about the importance of water quality in Utah. Her research focuses on helping people understand the connection between their everyday activities, land use, and the quality of our water. Following Mesner's talk, attendees are invited to enjoy light refreshments and a variety of hands-on learning activates. Cost: Free for members, $5 for non-members.
