Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter is excited to offer a Utah Master Naturalist course on Watersheds July 14-18. Participation in this course will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the ecosystems and watersheds in which we live. The course combines both classroom and fieldwork. We will be following the Weber River Watershed throughout the week from its headwaters in the Uinta Mountains to its terminus at the Great Salt Lake.

Special Event / Nutrition & Food Sciences

Artisan Aggie Cheese tasting & video presentation will consist of viewing an 8-10 minute DVD on Aggie Cheese and then sampling a few cheese varieties for a total of about 15 minutes. Tours will be held each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the Aggie Ice Cream building (except holidays). Admission is FREE.

Columbia Spotted Frog Wetland Pond Walk, Wednesday, July 16, 6-8 p.m. Come take a short wetland walk out to the frog ponds where the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is reintroducing the Columbia Spotted Frog! Chris Crockett, aquatic biologist with UDWR, will give attendees a tour of the project site and speak about native amphibian habitat. We will meet at the Swaner EcoCenter and then carpool over to the Preserve entrance. Space is very limited, please register to ensure your spot - swanerecocenter@usu.edu - or 435-649-1767.
