Special Event / College of Humanities & Social Sciences

Come join us to celebrate the start of the school year with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the annual "Light on the Hill" ceremony. Whether you are learning the world’s languages and cultures, exploring answers to the great questions of why we do the things we do, investigating what motivates us to be good or how to communicate who we are and what we believe to others, you are a member of the college that studies people. You are part of a community of scholars. So come meet some of them — especially the weirdos. The twilight reception is an opportunity to kick off the school year with Dean John C. Allen, CHaSS faculty members, club organizers, and new and returning students who share a passion for knowledge found within the liberal arts. Meet-and-greet with light refreshments 7:30–8:00 p.m. The convocation will begin at 8 p.m. Amphitheater on Old Main Hill.
