Black Mountain College: Shaping Craft + Design. This exhibition explores the impact of Black Mountain College on the fields of studio craft and design from the middle of the 20th century through today. Black Mountain College (1933-57) was an experimental liberal arts college located in rural North Carolina that still continues to be influential in visual, performing and literary arts. Exhibited works include ceramics, textiles, furniture, sculpture, paintings, printed material, and ephemera created by BMC students and faculty. 'Relational Forms: Robert Bliss & Anna Campbell Bliss' -- Relational Forms highlights furniture designed by Robert Bliss and the artwork of Anna Campbell Bliss, two of Utah’s most important creative minds. Residents of Salt Lake City since 1963, this is only the second time their work has been exhibited together. Beginning Sept. 1, NEHMA’s hours are as follows: Tuesday–Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

1:00 pm - 1:30 pm    CPD & UATP to take on ALS Ice Bucket Challenge for Former Aggie

Sept. 2, 1 p.m. on the USU Quad, UATP, along with the Center for Persons with Disabilities, will take on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to show solidarity for one our clients and friends, Kim Maibaum. You can help by taking the challenge yourself, donating to the ALS fund or Kim's care fund, and coming and cheering us on or sharing the video which will be put up later that day!

7:00 pm - 11:00 pm    Celebrate America Show: In The Miller Mood, 'A Sentimental Journey'

We're celebrating 15 years of shows featuring swinging 1940s style music that captures the timeless sound and style of the big band era! A time when Glenn Miller and other great Swing Bands made a significant contribution to the morale of the nation through music that lifted spirits, boosted patriotism and helped sell War Bonds in the the midst of WWII! The show takes you back in time to experience a toe-tapping, fun-filled evening featuring the lush harmonies of the Stardust Singers, Dancers and the Larry Smith Orchestra. Music includes the tunes America loves - hits from the big band era. Performances nightly Sept. 2-6 in the USU Ballroom. Tickets available with or without dinner. All shows (except Sept. 2) feature entertainment after the show with singers and dancing. Group and student rates available (www.celebrateamericashow.com).
