Boren Scholarship Deadline


The Boren Scholarship emphasizes the importance of language study through long-term cultural and linguistic immersion. Students who are interested in studying abroad for a year receive priority, although there are scholarships for semesters, as well as a summer program specifically for STEM students that is 8 weeks long (at the minimum). The award amounts are up to $20,000 for a year program, $10,000 for a semester program and $8,000 for a summer program. Those students who accept a Boren Scholarship agree to work for the federal government for at least one year after they graduate. This can be a stepping stone to various careers as professionals with international experience.
