2:18 pm - 2:18 pm    Blind Hollow Yurt Backcountry Skiing/Boarding Trip

We are heading up to the Blind Hollow yurt spend the weekend enjoying the Bear River backcountry. We will explore some of the fantastic riding terrain near Blind Hollow and spend the evenings around the fire in the comforts of the OP's yurt. Participants must be prepared for moderate to strenuous uphill hiking. No backcountry experience is required but participants must be able to comfortably ski/board blue to black western resort terrain. Winter backcountry travel equipment(Alpine Touring, Telemark, Splitboard) are required and available to rent from the OP at a discounted rate. NO SNOWSHOES. Trip cost includes food, transportation, avalanche safety equipment(beacon, shovel, probe) and two nights at the OP yurt.

March Concert: “Progenitors of the New Age: Mysticism and California Art” California has long been a focal point of alternative religious and spiritual thought. By the mid-twentieth century a number of such influences had come together under the moniker of “The New Age.” This concert will explore, both visually and aurally, two such fundamental influences: Zen Buddhism and Alchemy. Repertoire will include the Utah premiere of California composer Byron Adams’s Variationes alchemisticae for flute, viola, cello and piano, as well as works by Toru Takemitsu and Maurice Durufle performed by members of the Utah Symphony Brant Bayless, Caitlyn Valovick Moore, and Jason Hardink, as well as USU faculty Anne Francis Bayless and Chilali Hugo.
