Turn your fear into FASCINATION!

Explore the largest arachnid exhibit in the United States and discover the connections between arachnids and literature, art, folklore, paleontology, science, and history. The Art and Science of Arachnids features 100 live arachnids and exciting hands-on activities, experiments, and play. During its time at the Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter, this exhibit will be available to read and listen to in both Spanish and English!

Brown Bag Series: Dr. Julia Gossard

Panel Discussion/Presentation

“Witchy Women: The Long History of Witchcraft in Western Civilization”
Bring your lunch and listen to Dr. Gossard speak on the more memorable moments in history where women have been cast as witches, examining the gendered and patriarchal dimensions of each. She will even look at a few “spells”- just make sure to bring your broom, travel cauldron, and a dead man’s toe! Coffee and tea will be provided as well as Halloween Cookies!
