Patrick Dougherty Art Installation

Arts/Entertainment

The USU Dept. of Art + Design in collaboration with the Caine College of the Arts is seeking volunteers to hel artist Patrick Dougherty build a willow sculpture on the USU campus. No specific skills are required other than enthusiasm, physical stamina, and the ability to follow instructions. Building takes place 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. Pre-register at art.usu.edu/willow.

Dr. Lloyd Smith, Professor at the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Washington State University, considers bat and ball performance and how they are measured. Methods to measure aerodynamics properties of sports balls will be reviewed and factors contributing to baseball drag will be presented.

During the game, the 2018 Utah State Athletics Hall of Fame Class will be recognized for their recent induction. The 2018 Hall of Fame class includes Tony Brown (Men’s Basketball), Erin Cartwright-Davis (Volleyball), Charlie Denson (Football/Contributor), Greg Kragen (Football), Kevin Nixon (Men’s Basketball) and Kendal Smith (Football).
