Mary Claire Becker & Amanda Lee Exhibition

Arts/Entertainment

Marie Claire Becker’s research explores the fetishization of landscape as “other” in industrialized cultures, particularly in the United States, through artworks that rearrange and re-contextualize human-made depictions of Nature. In her work, botanical designs rooted in the domestic are exaggerated to the point of parody verging on oversaturated kitsch. By highlighting visions of Nature that are embedded in American culture, she aims to emphasize their artificiality. Her work investigates and responds to man-made nature as a way to further understand her ecological identity and her responsibility as a post-digital human.

Faith Distress Support Group

Student Activities

This group is an opportunity to get together in a safe environment and learn from and support each other. Each week, we will discuss pertinent issues related to faith that create stress (e.g., having faith doubts or internal conflict with elements of your faith, clarifying your spiritual identity, stresses associated with faith transitions, finding a spiritual place of belonging, talking to those of different faiths, etc.). The topic is motivated by those who participate that day. The group is facilitated by Monique Frazier, a psychologist from USU Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS).
