Session 1, 9:30-11 a.m. Kyle T. Bulthuis of Utah State University will present “Still a Vital Center: Denominational Choices and the Black Church Experience.” Yvonne P. Chireau of Swarthmore University will present “Conjure, Hoodoo, and the Margins of African American Religions.” Lunch, 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.Session 2, 1-2:30 p.m. Jacob S. Dorman of the University of Kansas will present “Rethinking Center and Margins: the Centrality of African American Alternative Religions.” Christopher Cameron of the University of North Carolina-Charlotte will present “Slavery and the Rise of African American Humanism.”
