This is an American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) Level I course entitled "Decision Making in Avalanche Terrain". This course will consist of one indoor and two outdoor classroom days. Participants will be given a full equipment list prior to the course start. Non-motorized backcountry travel equipment is required and snow shoes are not allowed. Split boards, AT and Telemark are allowed(with skins). You will need to bring a avalanche transceiver, shovel, and probe. All of this equipment can be rented from the USU Outdoor Recreation Program rental shop. Please reserve this equipment in advance as quantities are limited. Course Schedule: Friday February 3rd, 8am-4pm (Indoor Session @USU Campus) Saturday February 4th, 8am-4pm (Outdoor Field Session) Sunday February 5th, 8am-4pm (Outdoor Field Sessions) USU Students: $200 Non-Students: $250
