Foundations of USU Teaching

This event will be specifically relevant to new faculty, instructors, and graduate student instructors new to teaching at USU. We will explore the mission and vision of the USU undergraduate degree and learning outcomes. Focus will be placed on intentionality in preparing and facilitating courses along with information about USU student demographics. Attendees will engage in hands-on breakout sessions on areas of practical interest, including using Canvas, course planning, creating usable content, access to library resources, and incorporating planetary thinking into the curriculum. A general session on effective teaching practices will be followed with opportunities to enroll in the ETE10 program, and schedule course planning consultations with an instructional designer. Presenters at this event, include:
Frank Galey, Executive Vice President and Provost
Harrison Kleiner, Associate Vice Provost
Mitchell Colver, Manager & Senior Data Analyst, Center for Student Analytics
and many other faculty and staff from Utah State University
