Kiger Hour - Jennifer Sinor
Thursday, Jul 30 - 5:15 PM to 7:00 PM
College of Humanities & Social Sciences
Join us for an hour of good food, good company, intellectual engagement, and a TimePiece by Jennifer Sinor, Associate Professor in the English Department. The TimePiece is titled: "Memories of the Future." It will be held at Montez Brothers in the Accolade Room. Jennifer wrote her first novel when she was 8, but it wasn’t until the age of 10 that she really understood what it meant to pursue a life in writing. She teaches creative nonfiction as well as the occasional fiction class. Her work has appeared in The American Scholar, Utne, The Chronicle of Higher Ed, and elsewhere. An essay of hers was recently anthologized in The Norton Reader. What she reads tonight is a piece about a police officer. It has only taken her 40 years to figure out the story she wanted to tell.
