Description
Whether you’re new to winter-backcountry recreation or you’re a seasoned professional, knowing how to use an avalanche beacon will save your life. We’re offering a free clinic to students, staff, and the public Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. at the Legacy Fields (located north of the HPER Building). This course will demonstrate how beacons work, the proper use, and the science behind them. Along with showing how beacons work, we will cover the four phases of searching for a beacon in an avalanche: signal search, course search, find search, and pinpointing. Dress warm and don’t miss out on this free clinic taught by outdoor professionals!
