During the tour, you'll learn about wetland science, native plant and animal species, the history of the Swaner Preserve. These tours take place on the generally flat terrain of the Swaner wetlands and are appropriate to anyone who is relatively active. Please come prepared for the outdoor conditions, sturdy boots or shoes (close-toed) are recommended along with a water bottle. During the tour, you'll learn about wetland science, native plant and animal species, the history of the Swaner Preserve. These tours take place on the generally flat terrain of the Swaner wetlands and are appropriate to anyone who is relatively active. Please come prepared for the outdoor conditions, sturdy boots or shoes (close-toed) are recommended along with a water bottle. Most people are familiar with Park City's mining history, but what about Summit County's agricultural history? The Park City Museum and The Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter are teaming up to host a presentation at the Swaner Preserve about Summit County's agricultural roots and the history of the historic barn located on the Swaner Preserve. This barn, still called the Wallin Barn by long-time locals, is a prominent landmark as you drive along Hwy 224 near Kimball Junction. Come tour the barn and learn more about our agricultural past and historic preservation. Meet at the Swaner EcoCenter for a talk by the Park City Museum. After a presentation, the group will tour the barn on the Swaner Preserve. Group size will be limited so RSVPs are required.
