Did you know there are fireflies in Utah? Learn about the biology and ecology of these fascinating biolumenescent beetles from Christy Bills, Entomologist at the Natural History Museum of Utah. Christy will be presenting her research on these amazing creatures and providing all the information you need to participate in a local citizen-science project to contribute to their conservation. Want to start your day with a clear mind and a happy body? Join us on the Wetland Pier at the Swaner EcoCenter for a vinyasa yoga practice. Take in the peaceful views of the Swaner Preserve while our instructor leads you through the practice. In the case of inclement weather, yoga will take place in our Exhibit Hall. Please bring your mat and plan to arrive at least 10 minutes in advance.

Join us twice a month, October through May, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to read a specially selected nature-themed book, explore the natural world, and complete a craft. Some favorites include snowshoeing on the Preserve, interacting with live reptiles and amphibians, upcycling old materials into holiday decorations, and much more! Cost is $2.00 per youth participant, or buy a $15.00 punch card good for 10 programs. Only one punch card required per family and never expires. Payment will be taken at the door the day of the program. One caregiver must accompany children to participate. Please be prepared to adventure outdoors!
