Info Session - HR Internships

CHaSS Alumni Lunch Series: Ben Kolendar

Sit down to lunch with Ben Kolendar, the Deputy Director for Salt Lake City’s Department of Economic Development. Prior to his current position, Ben served as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of SelectUSA, a presidentially-appointed position and, as an official in the U.S. Department of Defense, he was dedicated to the development of Afghanistan’s economy

Ben has an MBA with an emphasis in globalization and international trade from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s in Philosophy from USU. He is also an alumni of USU's Institute of Government and Politics internship program and one of three CHaSS Alums named to Utah Business Magazine's 40 under 40 in 2019.

Please join us for lunch and have the chance to speak with Ben directly about his experiences working in both local and federal government positions. Due to Ben's schedule, lunch will start promptly at 11:30AM.

As part of "Coming to Life," the celebration of the completion of USU's Life Sciences Building, the College of Science, along with USU’s Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art and the Department of Art + Design in the Caine College of the Arts, host “Conversations with the Artists,” in Life Sciences Building, Room 133. Human in the Helmet: A discussion on athletes and increasing mental health issues

In this public discusison about the increase in mental health needs among our athletes, current BYU and former USU Athletics’ Team Doctor, Dr. Darren Campbell, will discuss ways to recognize and treat anxiety, concussion complications, and the emotional aspects of dealing with injuries.
“Human In The Helmet” is sponsored by Utah State University Athletics, Intermountain Healthcare, and Utah Public Radio are concerned about the increase in mental health needs among our athletes.

Also, a panel of professionals, coaches, parents, and athletes will participate in a Q&A session. Breakout booths with mental health experts and support group representatives will provide opportunities to learn about mental health resources.
