Lunch with Latinx Leaders: Professor of Psychology speaks on mentoring

The Latinx Cultural Center (LCC) has been hosting a series of bring-your-own-lunch events that are designed to let the USU community get to know their Latinx faculty, administrators, and staff in a substantive way. The speaker for this event is Dr. Melanie Domenech Rodriguez, a professor in the psychology department. She will share the importance of mentoring in her professional development and success, and how she pays it forward.This event is open to one and all, drinks and light snacks will be provided.

Lunch with Latinx Leaders: Dr. Rivera talks about the naturalization process through the H1-B visa

The Latinx Cultural Center (LCC) has been hosting a series of bring-your-own-lunch events that are designed to let the USU community get to know their Latinx faculty, administrators, and staff in a substantive way. The speaker for this event is Dr. Samuel Rivera, from the Watershed Science department. He will share his experience with petitioning for a US legal permanent residence by establishing academic evidence of national interest. He hopes his story will help others in similar circumstances. This event is open to one and all, drinks and light snacks will be provided.

Meet and greet with award-winning children's book author and artist, Raul the Third

Lucky Slice pizza will be served. Raul's work centers around the contemporary Mexican-American experience and his memories of growing up in El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. He has won awards for his Lowriders illustration book work, and was contributor to the SpongeBob comic series.

Latinx Cultural Center Spring Speaker: Raul the Third

The Latinx Cultural Center at Utah State University welcomes all to come and hear from guest author and illustrator Raul the Third. Raúl's work centers around the contemporary Mexican-American experience and his memories of growing up in El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. He has won awards for his illustrations of the Lowriders book series and was contributor to the SpongeBob comic series. ¡Vamos! Let’s Go to The Market! is Raúl’s first authorial project.

Come hear his story about his development as an author and illustrator, followed by a hands-on writing and drawing demonstration, and an author reception and book signing. Light refreshments will be provided. There is no charge for this event, and we welcome everyone to attend
