Schooled in War: The Great War and the transformation of Utah Agricultural College

Panel Discussion/Presentation

In connection with the University's series of events commemorating the Armistice Day Centenary, this presentation to the Utah Division of State History will look back at how the "war to end all wars" impacted Utah through the lens of the UAC and Cache Valley. While enlistment frenzies drained the campus of men and left female students preparing to form a "Legion of Death" in case of German invasion, civilians on the home front dealt with anti-German sentiment, an influx of outsiders training at the newly-expanded college, and the devastation of the influenza epidemic.
