Family 1st Saturdays at the MOA

Cultural/Diversity

Join us in the Museum of Anthropology the 1st Saturday of each month to explore cultures from around the world, past and present. We offer activities and demonstrations for all ages. Upcoming events include exploring the museum's exhibits in June, art and material culture in July and August, human origins in September, food from around the world in October, magic + deception in November, and the cultural practice of gift giving in December. Making A Difference - What We Do Matters

Panel Discussion/Presentation

Please join us for a keynote presentation with Dr. Anna Blau and Laura Mora from International Women’s House in Metro-Atlanta. Dr. Blau and Ms. Mora have over 60 years of combined experience in nonprofit work, the majority of which has been in the domestic violence field. Their organization provides safe haven and supportive services to women and children who are the victims of family violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking, with a focus on immigrant and refugee women and children. Dr. Blau is a former refugee and Ms. Mora is an immigrant – their keynote will touch on their personal stories, their professional work, and how you can make a difference in your community.
