Family 1st Saturdays at the MOA

Cultural/Diversity

Join us in the Museum of Anthropology the 1st Saturday of each month to explore cultures from around the world, past and present. We offer activities and demonstrations for all ages. Upcoming events include exploring the museum's exhibits in June, art and material culture in July and August, human origins in September, food from around the world in October, magic + deception in November, and the cultural practice of gift giving in December. Film screening of 'Chasing the Dragon' and Q&A on opioid addiction

Lecture/Readings

Film screening of "Chasing the Dragon: The Life of an Opiate Addict," followed by a Q&A session with a panel of experts. The 50-minute documentary is produced by the FBI and Drug Enforcement Agency, aimed at educating young adults and family about the dangers of addiction. Moderating will be Lindsey Bonney of the U.S. Attorneys' Office.
