Full Moon Hike to the Wind Caves
We’re doing a free full-moon hike Wednesday, March 27, 2013, to the Wind Caves up Logan Canyon. The trail is on the south-facing slope of the canyon, which means it should be free of snow, but be prepared for wet or muddy conditions. The trail starts by the Guinavah-Malibu Campground five miles up the canyon. The trail climbs about 1,000 feet until you reach the caves, which is a triple arch and cave. We’ll be leaving the ORP shop at 8 p.m. on Wednesday. A mandatory pre-trip meeting will be held Tuesday, March 26, at 5 p.m. in the ORP. We’ll cover what to expect on the hike, such as: appropriate clothing, shoes, snacks and lighting. Equipment will be offered at a 10 percent discount for participants. Register at the link below.
