Provost's Series on Instructional Excellence-Getting Started w/Flipped Learning

Tuesday, Mar 18 - 3:30PM to 5:00PM

Flipped learning is a relatively new model of learning where students complete traditional class-time materials on their own time. These materials are presented using a variety of technologies including videos and screencasts. Then, during scheduled class time, the instructor and students work on applications of those materials. This model allows for increased interaction and personalization for the students' education. Many instructors want to apply the flipped learning model to their classes; however, they do not know how to get started with producing the needed materials. In this workshop, information from the literature on how to apply the major principles of multimedia instructional design will be presented. A review of the major technologies used to produce a flipped class will also be discussed. You are encouraged to preview and review workshop materials at the workshop website: http://getflipped.blogspot.com/.
