Leonard J. Arrington Mormon History Lecture, Presented by Dr. William A. Wilson
The 13th Annual Leonard J. Arrington Mormon History Lecture will take place September 27th, 2007. The presenter this year is Dr. William A. "Bert" Wilson, Professor Emeritus in the English Department at BYU. The title of his lecture is "What's True in Mormon Folklore: And the Contribution of Folklore to Mormon Studies". Dr. Wilson was the 1st Director of the Austin and Alta Fife Folklore Archives at Utah State University.
There will also be an Essay Writing Contest open to all college students in Utah and surrounding states in conjunction with the lecture. The lecture will take place in the Logan, Utah LDS Tabernacle. This lecture is sponsored by Special Collections & Archives in the Merrill-Cazier Library, the Leonard Arrington Foundation, and the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences of Utah State University.
