Kiger Hour - Dr. David Wall
Join us for an hour of good food,good company, intellectual engagement, and a TimePiece by Dr. David Wall, assistant professor of visual and media studies, Department of Art and Design. The TimePiece is titled: "How Art Means." It will be held at Montez Brothers. Dr. Wall has published widely in the fields of art and visual culture, including articles on the contemporary African American artist Kara Walker, the 19th century architect Andrew Jackson Downing, and the grotesque body in antebellum culture. His article on the use of stereotypes in advertising was recently anthologized in The Conscious Reader, and his essay on cinematic images of slavery will be appearing shortly in the Blackwell Companion to the History Film.
