From Dean Noelle Cockett

Dean Noelle Cockett

We are living in a time of unprecedented scientific discovery and competition for talented students and faculty. Our campaign to raise $10 million by 2010 will secure our tradition of excellence at the most critical levels: learning and teaching.

A dedicated and talented faculty engaged with capable students creates an inspired environment of learning and discovery benefiting every person seeking to enlarge their understanding. Attracting talented students and faculty requires accommodating two needs: alignment of academic interests and providing competitive financial incentives. We need your help to realize our vision of distinguishing the College of Agriculture at Utah State University on the basis of our academic strengths, and delivering competitive scholastic and research opportunities to students and faculty who will enrich our academic community. We hope that you value the academic training and inspiration you received at USU, and we urge you to support our campaign as you are able. We invite you and other alumni, parents and friends to take part in this effort and to support those areas of the College of Agriculture that mean the most to you. With your help, the College will demonstrate that, when given the freedom and the resources to shape its own destiny, it can fulfill its historic land-grant mission while securing a place among the best institutions in the nation.

We are grateful for every gift of support we receive. Your partnership with us is paramount to our future success.

Foundation and Corporate Support

Many foundations and corporations support our students and faculty through grants, sponsored research, scholarships and matching gift programs. We are deeply grateful for this support and welcome your inquiries.

Facilities, Technology and Equipment

Agricultural Sciences Teaching and Research Building:

To meet the needs of the College of Agriculture, the Utah Agricultural Experiment Station, and agricultural faculty, researchers and students for the next 30 years or more, it has been proposed that a new Agricultural Sciences Teaching and Research Building be constructed on the Logan campus. The site of this building will be on the east side of the university quadrangle, a very prestigious location, highlighting the continuing commitment of Utah State University to the agricultural industry and land-grant mission. While much of this structure will be built through a unique partnership of federal and state entities, the College of Agriculture will be seeking to raise an additional $15 million by private means. As the major agricultural structure on campus, the prestigious right to name this building after the donor, loved one, friend or other person, can be obtained with a significant major gift.

Equine Education Center:

We are seeking a new home for the Equine Program. This program serves our nationally competitive horse teams, animal science students, students interested in developing skills in riding, handling and caring for horses, and horse enthusiasts throughout the state. We invite your support to help us build a new facility befitting the importance and stature of this equine program in our college.
