Campaign Goals
People: $55 million
One of the critical goals of the Campaign for Utah State University is to increase the endowment. Endowment support creates a legacy that lasts far beyond the initial gift. It creates continuing support for students and faculty. Our current endowment stands at $110 million and provides funding for at least partial tuition scholarships annually for more than 700 students, travel and faculty support, and four named Chairs.
There remains, however, an unmet scholarship need for many of our continuing students (sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students and those at our regional campuses). Increasing the endowed scholarships available will greatly enhance our ability to retain those students.
It is imperative, as well, that we remain competitive in hiring and retaining those highly qualified faculty who can encourage, challenge and inspire our students. It is our goal to establish at least one named faculty position in each of our seven colleges during this campaign.
Programs: $95 million
Each college at Utah State University is built upon programs that offer knowledge important for today and inspiration important for tomorrow. The generosity of our donors has enhanced these programs by offering on-going program support for both student retention and faculty enrichment. Additional resources are needed to provide cutting-edge research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, unique performance opportunities, and stellar industry-specific programs. These experiences provide the difference between knowledge and inspiration. It is because of these types of programs that 90 percent of our graduates find employment in their field of choice within one year of graduation. It is a legacy that needs to grow and thrive.
Places: $50 million
Utah State University is a stellar place of learning and discovery as well as an environment you can call home. Alumni return time and again to walk the Quad, have an ice cream cone or kiss on the block A. At Utah State we are preserving those wonderful places as we grow and change to meet the needs of today and tomorrow. As technology has changed the way we teach and learn, our teaching environments have to change as well. From the newly renovated Edith Bowen Laboratory School to the pristine performance experience of the Manon Caine Russell Kathryn Caine Wanlass Performance Hall, Utah State University is providing students with unparalleled access to the highest quality learning environments.
Participation
Utah State University currently receives gifts from 11 percent of those who are solicited. It is our goal during the campaign to increase this percentage to 15 percent through a committed and coordinated program of interaction with our alumni and friends. A truly great university has at its core both its curriculum and the friends who continue to support it. It is our goal to connect the passions of our alumni with the strategic objectives of the Campaign for Utah State University.
