FAQ

The following are frequently asked questions. If you have a question that is not listed on this page then visit the USU Cycling Contact page to contact an appropriate member of the team leadership.

  • How can I join the club or team?
All enthusiastic USU students are invited to join the club or team. The club meets at different times to organize events and coordinate training. Therefore, the best way to get involved is to 1) contact someone from the team leadership 2) sign up for the club listserve 3) pay the club fees at the swim desk in the HPER building or visit the Campus Recreation Program Offering site to pay it online.

  • What do your jerseys look like and how can I get one?
Every year the USU cycling team designs and purchases a new jersey for the new racing season. Anyone who is interested in purchasing the jersey can do so by contacting David Clyde, clothing coordinator, for more info on ordering details. He will provide you with all necessary information for ordering.

  • How can I get a license to race?
The USU cycling team does not provide licenses. The national licenses used in Utah events are purchased at the USA Cycling website. Follow instructions on that website in order to purchase your license.

  • How can I sponsor or otherwise help out the team?
The local community can help out in many ways. There is of course cash sponsorship but many USU Cycling sponsors use other methods. Many of our sponsors give team members access to discounts or access to specific product. Many sponsors offer valuable services unique to their establishments. Families make private donations to support siblings or children on the team. Please contact Jedd Cox for more info.

  • When do you go on rides and when are local races?
The USU cycling coach leads a university cycling course every fall and spring. The ride leaves the front of the HYPR building at 2:30pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Tuesdays serve road rides and Wednesdays are for mountain rides. The club sets up training rides each Fall and Spring according to member schedules. Many club members ride the TNR (Tuesday Night Ride) every Tuesday at 5:30pm; more information is at Logan Race Club. Also, the USU race schedule is posted on the Calendar.
