As members of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, members of USU’s Rodeo Club compete in college rodeos throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.  Traveling to various locations in Utah and Southern Idaho, members compete as individuals as well as a team in hopes to qualify for the 2011 College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming. 

Utah State University is well-represented this year by 25 members: 12 members on the women’s team and 13 members on the men’s team.  These members compete against colleges from throughout the region including Weber State University, Utah Valley University, College of Southern Idaho, Southern Utah University, Idaho State University, and Dixie State College.  Events offered at the collegiate level include saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping and goat tying.

After completing four rodeos in the fall 2010 season, ten members of the USU Rodeo Club are ranked in the top ten in the region in their respective events.  With six rodeos remaining in the spring season, several members have potential to qualify as one of the top three in their events and qualify to represent USU at the College National Finals Rodeo.
